Winning Tips

December's winning tip was:

Recycle your Christmas trees most local councils collect them and use the wood chip in local parks.

November's winning tip was:

Invest in a clothes airer and dry clothes on this in a sunny room on winter days.

October's winning tip was:

Cut the top off clear plastic bottles and use them as mini cloches to grow salad crops later into the Autumn season.

September's winning tip was:

Use your old loo rolls and wrapping paper to make christmas crackers. Instead of jokes put a little green tip in each!

August's winnining tip was:

Open out your old loo roll and kitchen roll tubes then put through a cross cut shredder, add the result to your compost bin these \'shreddings\' will add great water retention properties to the end result compost.

June's winning tip was:

'We save the cardboard tubes from toilet rolls and cereal boxes and give them to our local primary school to use'

March's winning eco tip was:

'When cooking with lemons or limes keep them and soak them in hot water over night, mix with 1 part bicarbonate soda and 3 parts water that you have soaked the lemons and limes in and put into a trigger bottle - this makes an ideal window cleaner with no smears'

February's winning eco tip was:

'Always cut up the plastic collars that go round drinks cans - you are potentially saving the life of a small animal who might get snared in one of these indestructible devices'.

January's winning eco tip was:

'Take extra time to hang your wet clothes straight and smooth, it cuts down on the ironing and therefore saves energy, and time!!’
